Mark Mabwe is among Africa Kings who are going to contest for the title Mister Africa International during a pageant which will be held later this year. We caught up with Mark Mabwe who shared with us how he celebrated his Africa day and what the day and being an African means to him. In addition Mark Mabwe shares details about some of his charity work he has conducted.

 

Q.Can you tell us about yourself who is Mark Mabwe and which province you derive from?

A.Mark Mabwe Is a lively, goal driven and creative young man who wants to leave a mark on this world. I am from Bulawayo (City of Kings and Queens), Zimbabwe.

 

Q. Which career came first music or modeling and how did you manage to nurture the two in the past years?

A .The career modelling came first, the passion and music was there before but I hadn’t turned it into a career the way I had with music , I have nurtured the two by continuously improving my craft in both respects I watch and emulate those at a higher level than me.

 Then I look at how I can become better and then implement those changes.

Q.What base been your latest project in your music career?

A.My latest project is a free-style to a beat from a World renowned song by Jack Harlow and Drake. It is called “Churchill Downs freestyle”.

Q. Currently are you working anything in the studio? A.Yes I have a couple of songs that are being mixed and mastered that I have worked on, hoping to release them soon.

Q. Are there any plans in working with any prominent names local in the music industry and whom are they?

A.Yes there are definitely plans to work with prominent names in the industry locally I cannot disclose any names at this time.

Q.During the month of May the Continent celebrated, Africa Day, how did you spent your Africa Day?

A.I celebrated my Africa Day at the King George IV, spectating and judging a modelling contest it was absolutely a delight, the kids made it so lively and really brought out the African spirit.

 

Q. To you what does Africa Day means?

A.Africa day to me Means celebrating being African, although I wish it could be a daily thing because being African is essentially a daily thing.

 

Q.In modeling you hold the title Mister Africa

International Zimbabwe, how has your life changed since you were appointed? A.My life has changed by giving me exposure to more of the country and new experiences and meeting new people from different societies, who have positively changed my outlook on life.

Q.How are you preparing for the Mister Africa International title?

A.I am preparing by keeping myself physically fit and mentally sharp and also by making my countrywomen and men aware that this pageant is taking place and that their support is needed.

 

Q.What lessons didyou learnt from your predecessor?

A.From my predecessor I learnt that with the full support of the nation the title is attainable and also the power of networking and self-belief.

 

Q.As Mister Africa International Zim are there any projects that you have done to reach out to your community?

A. I am currently working closely with my mentor Shadel Noble and the Nozizwe Foundation on community outreach and I plan on partnering with other foundations to extend a helping hand in whatever way. I have visited Ngozi Mine; Free Wild Be; King George IV and also have conducted Mental Health program under Boy Child Project.

Q.What support do you need from the nation and the world?

A.From the nation I need their support in terms of votes, when the time comes as well as general moral support. From the world a platform to express

 

Q.What are three resort areas in Africa you would love to visit?
