Olona mtoto is a 28 year old Xhosa girl who was born in Matatiele township, Eastern Cape. Partially, she grew up in Durban and this is where she did her studies up to tertiary level. Olona is a fashionsta, super model who is always dressed by Eel Een Designs, a graduate of financial management and trialbrazer motivational speaker. Last year, she was crowned as Miss Ethekwini Municipality and Miss Beautious South Africa.

Olona is also a philanthropist who believes in helping the vulnerable people and the less privilege who are in need. Without a doubt, she has done so much in the local communities. For instance, she worked as a volunteer to clean path ways which usually used by school children’s and cyclist. She also cleaned on the dump sites because it is also a place where mosquitoes and fliers and rats breeds. As a result of this, the environment wont be safe for human beings. Cleaning is the only way to eradicate a large number of diseases which are caused by poisonous insects. There is a scripture in the bible which says that cleanness is closer to Godliness.

If you have an opportunity to meet our President, what would you say to him?

Myraid of pageants usually takes place in the main cities. It is a big disadvantage to talented and gifted young people who stays in remote areas who does not have money to buy basic needs for modelling outfits and to incur other expenses. At the end of the day, they will quickly give up on their dreams and look for another alternative way. Therefore, I would ask for assistance from the government to initiate a way to reach out such kind of the people.

What is the biggest struggle that you have had to overcome?

Comparison. It does not matter who you are in this world, people always try to compare women. In the world of modelling, it teaches you to be confidence with yourself – your body, skin colour and height. Everybody is awesome is his or her own way. Therefore, be the best version of yourself.
