Yeukai Evelyn Gumbo, a 23 year old professional model signed under Sizefour agency residing in Chegutu was crowned Miss Eco-Tourism Zimbabwe 2022 on Saturday the 26th February. She battled for the crown with 9 other models. This being her very first time competing physically in a pageant she can only describe her emotions within the crowning moment as beyond elated! Even now after the crowning she is still quite excited to be carrying the Miss Ecotourism Zimbabwe title because it certainly did not come easy for her.
Now that she has won she will be working with SCAT (Sustainable Climate Action Trust) which focusses on the conservation of our environment and also she, Miss Ecotourism Zimbabwe, along with the Miss Teen Ecotourism Zimbabwe Queen, Amanda Peresu Moyo will proceed to represent Zimbabwe in South Africa in October and compete for the Miss and Teen Ecotourism world crowns.
To other upcoming models she said “Self-belief is the key ingredient to success. You are your best fan and your best supporter.”
Besides being Miss Ecotourism she is also the face of Lockdown 2020 and Miss Winter Zimbabwe 2021 although these, unlike Miss Ecotourism Zimbabwe, were online pageants.
Miss Ecotourism is a pageant that’s if fully focused on promoting Ecotourism in Zimbabwe with the aim of supporting tourism as well as supporting the environmental and eco-friendly lifestyle and nature in Zimbabwe. The licence holder of this pageant is Ntombana Irene Tuturu.
