The  Empangeni Star Chasing the Miss Teen ICORA FM Crown

Empangeni’s very own Ziyamthanda Nxumalo is not just a model; she is a young visionary with a heart for her community and an unshakable drive to succeed. At just 17 years old, Ziyamthanda is already making waves as a proud Miss Teen ICORA FM finalist.

Ziyamthanda’s journey on the runway began at the tender age of five. What started as school activities blossomed into a lifelong passion. For her, modelling is much more than walking in front of a crowd—it’s a transformative experience. What pushed her into the industry was how it grows her confidence and boosts her self-esteem, allowing her to become a better version of herself both physically and mentally.

Beyond the glitz and glamour, Ziyamthanda is a “slashie”—a model and an entrepreneur. She currently runs a business selling essential bags for teenage girls and boys. These curated kits are designed to help her peers feel fresh and hydrated, proving that she understands the importance of self-care and confidence for the youth in her community.

Every leader has a hero, and for Ziyamthanda, that person is former Miss Universe, Zozibini Tunzi. She admires how Tunzi fought for her dreams despite facing bullying and ridicule during her school years. Zozibini stayed confident and brave because she knew her worth, and Ziyamthanda carries that same resilience into every competition.

Winning the Miss Teen ICORA FM title would mean the world to her. She believes the crown would serve as a powerful reminder to always believe in herself and to continue pursuing her dreams. Her vision for the future is as bold as her runway walk; in just a few months, she envisions herself as a successful model who also owns several farms, blending her love for the camera with a passion for agriculture.

To her fellow contestants, Ziyamthanda offers a message of solidarity: “Believe in yourself and stay confident. Remember, this pageant is all about owning the moment and enjoying every minute of it.”

Keep an eye on Ziyamthanda Nxumalo—she isn’t just modeling the future; she’s building it.
