KwaDwesi Pageantry is a unique platform that serves as a catalyst for the growth and development of the youth in Gqeberha. It provides a platform for participants to gain essential life skills such as confidence, courage, elegance, and poise. Furthermore, it encourages them to strive for success in all aspects of their lives, including their academic work and their contributions to their community.

The pageant, founded by Kungawo Mpini, a nine-year-old primary school student at Parsons Hill Primary school, focuses on instilling a sense of pride in the youth of Gqeberha. It inspires them to think about and work towards achieving their dreams. The pageantry encourages participants to take part in fundraising events and volunteer services, while also keeping up with their school work.

The beauty pageant was held at Algoa Hall on Freedom Day, 27th April 2023. The event attracted contestants from all over the area and provided them with the opportunity to showcase their skills and talents. The pageant aims to stress inclusivity and diversity, and as such, it encourages people from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds to participate.

The pageant doesn’t have a single winner; rather, all the contestants are winners, and they are all recognized for their efforts. Nevertheless, Miss KwaDwesi 2023 title holder is Khanyisile Sishuba, while Mr KwaDwesi 2023 is Wonga Tili. The event was a tremendous success, and the participants expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to take part in such an enriching experience.

The founder of the KwaDwesi pageantry, Kungawo Mpini, is a motivated individual and has achieved other modeling titles such as Tiny Port Elizabeth, Little Miss Eastern Cape, Queen of the World and Miss Tourism SA. With the support and assistance of her mother, Asanda Mpini, the CEO of Mr&Miss Kwadwesi, Kungawo was able to establish the pageantry as a platform for uplifting the youth of Gqeberha.

Kungawo Mpini, a motivational speaker for kids’ events, a gymnastics player and founder of Kungawo Foundation, is dedicated in her mission to build and restore the lives and dreams of the youth of Gqeberha. The success of the pageantry has motivated her to plan a 2nd Annual Kwadwesi Pageantry for 2024. This pageantry is not only about glitz and glamour but is designed to inspire the youth of Gqeberha to achieve their full potential and take pride in their community and environment.

In conclusion, the KwaDwesi Pageantry is providing a fantastic platform for the youth of Gqeberha to showcase their talents, and in doing so, they can gain valuable life skills and take pride in their accomplishments.
