More than 12 designers from across,the country are to exhibite their work in a competition which is going to determine, Zimbabwe’s Best Fashion Designer on the 17th of October.
The competition is founded by Tatenda Karinda a fashion enthusiastic,fashion designer and the founder of fashion Fusion .
In a press release,released by Karinda he stated out that the event’s foundation is built in a mandate to promote and expose the fashion design talent within the landlocked country.
“We have the most talented designers in Southern Region of Africa but there is no exposure and our marketing is poor.
“Yes we have fashion shows and all but most people focus more on models rather than who made the garment they are wearing,”said Tatenda.
Mr Karinda said designers who are to exhibit their work include:SANZ,Abianka fashion furoreS.O.G CLOTHING,
0DEGRESS,UNIXORN,AFRO PHOENIX,Millionaire business mindset,ROYAL CIRCLE,Aidah,Hismuse,Ruby’s touch,Voccu.
They will be required to exhibit at least five categories:sports wear,summer wear,retro/vintage and their own category piece of Designs.
The winners will be ,The People’s Choice and The Judges Choice for which the judges are:Anesu Mhembere fashion stylist,Lorraine Taylor,Anita Kunie model,Vesna Mutasa deputy CEO of OTMA.
The winners are to walk away with cash price and hampers courtesy of an unidentified partner of the event.
In addition they will be awards soon after the presentations.
Tatenda also informed that the show is to follow all Covid 19 regulations,hence those taking part will be provided free masks.
