Meet Natalee Mashaba, a 17-year-old from Pretoria, Mamelodi, also known as “the mother of melodies.” Her love for modeling started at a young age, earning her nicknames like “Tyra Banks” and “Miss South Africa” from family members. Growing up in a township wasn’t easy, but Natalee refused to let anyone dictate her future. She believed that her purpose was to break the stigma surrounding young girls born in townships and dedicate herself to empowering her community – to be an example of hope, proving that no matter where you come from, you can achieve anything.
Natalee joined Miss Teen Glam South Africa, a beauty pageant that aims to empower young women, give back to the community and uplift them to take up space in society. Winning the crown would mean the world to her. As the queen, Natalee plans to use her title to bring about a positive impact in her community. She wants to create a non-profit organization aimed towards the development of young teen girls in the townships, encouraging them to take up space and reach for the stars, believing that the sky is not the limit.
Apart from modeling, Natalee also does drama and esports in her spare time and has achieved various certificates towards her other interests. Musical production, top learner in tourism, and first place in Fifa23 are just some of her accomplishments. Cooking is another hobby that she enjoys. She calls it a symbol of love and unity in her family.
Natalee's ultimate goal is to create, live, and leave a legacy. She aspires to inspire people everywhere she goes and to never expire. With her determination, hard work, and belief in herself, Natalee has already broken barriers in the world of beauty pageantry. She's a young woman who knows her worth, believes in herself, and is determined to make a difference in her community. Her future is bright, and we can't wait to see what she has in store for the world.
