At just 20 years old, Linovuyo Moni is already making waves in the world of pageantry. Hailing from the vibrant city of Gqeberha, this young beauty was recently crowned the 1st Runner-Up in the prestigious Miss KwaMagxaki 2024 competition, proving that she is not just a pretty face, but a force to be reckoned with.
Linovuyo’s journey into modeling, however, wasn’t always an easy one. “I’ve always wanted to do modeling at a very tender age,” she reflects. “Reasons why I joined modeling is to boost up my confidence, deal with my anxieties, to face and walk in a crowd full of people without having any fears.”
It was a decision that would ultimately change the course of Linovuyo’s life. “To build a name for myself, not only a name but a brand that represents me as a person. Also to inspire others and for young girls to see me as someone who they can look up to as a role model,” she says, her eyes sparkling with determination.
Alongside her burgeoning modeling career, Linovuyo is also a dedicated student, currently studying Financial Management at the Russell Road Campus. “In my spare time, I love to read novels as a form of increasing my vocabulary,” she explains, showcasing her commitment to personal growth and development.
Looking ahead, Linovuyo has set her sights on even greater heights. “In a few years to come, I see myself being a part of Miss South Africa’s Top 3. I also see myself furthering my studies, for I want people to refer to me not only as Miss Moni but ‘Dr Moni’,” she declares, her ambition palpable.
Linovuyo’s message to fellow models is one of unity and self-acceptance. “Modeling isn’t about beauty, and it will never be about that. Modeling is about what’s inside of you, not only in your heart but a matter of having brains also, so they say ‘Beauty with Brains’,” she says, her voice firm and resolute.
“Everyone wants to place or be a title holder, however, when one doesn’t get what they want, it becomes hard to celebrate others’ wins. With that being said, always celebrate the wins of your fellow contestants. Always remember that you have the perfect body and shape, don’t ever let anyone tell you otherwise,” she adds, her words a powerful reminder of the importance of self-love and supporting one another.
Linovuyo Moni is a shining example of what can be achieved when passion, intelligence, and determination collide. With her unwavering spirit and unshakable belief in herself, this rising star is poised to inspire and empower young women everywhere.
