Ben Okri once said, “To poison a nation, poison it’s stories. A demoralized nation tells demoralized stories to itself.”
Writer’s are magical and writer’s are extraordinary species who has great ability to influence and to shape the mind of the people, neither in a positive nor negative way.
Kudakwashe T Muganu popularily known as Village boy, Engineer by profession, multi – award winner author, seasonal preacher, graphic designer, business consultant who has earned a strong reputation as a skilful inspirational writer. Honestly speaking, It is so hard to change a career in life and still be able to make it . Kudakwashe said that he did not have any dreams to become a writer but he had to switch the lane because the calling was so loud.
” You cannot fake passion, time will reveal the truth. Writing is my passion and l take my craftwork very serious because l treat writing as a business career, not as a hobby. As we know that business operates with principles. I do not leave myself to chances. Success is predictable if you follow the rules of the game. Therefore, l am always eqquiping myself with information and honing my skills so that l can make a positive impact in the world, ” he explains.
How did you manage to penetrate in the media industry?
One of the greatest achievement’s in my life is when l discovered my purpose – to know the reason why l was born on this earth. I always had an intuition deep down that l could offer something beneficial to the world, something unique with the intention of helping others in the process. My desire was to work with different species and travelling throughout the world. I did not take any second chance, I took a step of faith and l started to pursue my dreams.
It is not a secret that embarking something new is a feat. To matter matter worse, when l started this journey I did not have any journalism background and l was so young. So, you can imagine what the people would think before they hire me? Absolutely, it was a risk. The usual perception : is this person capable to do the work? Thankfully, they were individuals who took it upon themselves to help me. It was a great experience and learning curve for me. I have learned a lot, in a short period of time. I have learned graphic designing and entrepreneur skills. As time goes on, l started to do my own stuff.
Entrepreneurship at a young age has it’s own challenges. As a young entrepreneur you also have to work even harder for anyone to buy into your vision. In my journey of entrepreneurship, l have learnt that to never take things for granted. Work harder each time and prove that you are worthy of anyone’s support.
“Transitioning from being a writer to entrepreneur was a natural progression for him,” Kudakwashe says. He went on to say that there is never the right time or right amount of money to dive into business. If you are serious about your dreams, you will start with whatever you have. Dr Martin Luther King once said, ” the time is always right to do what is right.” What separates the entrepreneurs from the entrepre-never-wills is the action towards their desires.
What is your favourite scripture in the bible?
Proverb 19 verse 21 reads as follows; ” many are the plans in the mind of a man but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.”
Is there any particular piece of work that has stood out above rest and why?
I would not want to lie that there is any particular project that has stood out above the rest because l always do my best to maintain the same golden standard that l have established in my life.
In the same manner, l am very hard on myself. I start afresh with each project. I forget who l am and my past achievements. It keeps me grounded and focus on my ultimate vision. Therefore, l take every project very serious because every project counts. Greatness is a result of what you constantly do everyday.
