Tapiwanashe Mutsimba comes from the Ancient city of Masvingo has been dominating in the modelling industry, by scopping awards in line with his modelling work and social Charity projects that he has been conducting.
The multi-award winning journalist tells us what it meant for him to spend time with the first family of Zimbabwe and working for community.

Q:Tapiwanashe congratulations for being the brand ambassador of Mister Zimbabwe,what are you planning to bring in the table?
A:I’m planning to take the brand to another level as well as reaching out to many interms of charity.
I’ll use my profession to take the brand up high.

Q:2020 has been one of the greatest years of your life as you received national and international awards can you share with us some of the awards that you have been honoured with this year?
A:Indeed l was nominated for the Humanitarian Excellence Awards lndia and I’m proud of it because I’m the only African or man of colour to be recognised though l couldn’t go because of the pandemic.
-I was acknowledged by the Midlands State University for raising the University flag high.
-Named as one of the Most Influential Model by the Zimbabwe Influencers Magazine.
-Most Photogenic Model 2020.
-Prior to Mr Zim l had an opportunity to mingle with the President and First Lady or should l say the whole Presidium at the Presidential State House which is really amazing because it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. I mean more to come.

Q:What is in store for you as a model in the coming years ?
A:I’m now focusing more on the lnternational arena as well as focusing more on my studies, career and chasing the green card. It’s like I’ll still be doing modeling but not necessarily involved, am slowly shying away from the cameras & glitz and glam l want more of a quiet and private life now.
I got what l wanted so it’s time to move on and focus more on the other side of things that brings more value and tangible things it’s like doing it but in a broader and unique way.

Q:As a model from Masvingo who becomes the first male model to be win such a title, what does it mean for the modelling industry in Masvingo for Male models?
A:The industry is now on map I mean we got the national title, so I’m proud to have raised the bar high and it’s now up to them to maintain or surpus the standard I’ve set for them, the ball is in their hands.

Q:Personal what are you doing to change the male modelling industry in Masvingo?
A:I’m working on a project targeting male models and will give you a call when the right time comes.

Q:What advise do you want to provide to models in general?
A:Be educated.
Believe in yourself.
Know what you want.
Chase the green card.
