At just 19 years old, Lisakhanya Yiba is already making waves in the world of pageantry. Hailing from the bustling city of Gqeberha, this young beauty queen was recently crowned the Senior Queen of the prestigious Miss Magxaki 2024 competition, a testament to her unwavering determination and natural talent.

Lisakhanya’s journey to the crown, however, was not without its challenges. “I started exploring modeling at the age of 19 when I entered the Mr and Miss KwaDwesi competition,” she recalls, a hint of determination in her voice. “Unfortunately, I didn’t make it.”

But Lisakhanya’s story didn’t end there. “I wouldn’t say I was forced into modeling, but I was encouraged by the director of the Kungawo Mpini Foundation, Mama Asanda Mpini. She saw some potential in me that I didn’t see in myself, and I’m grateful for that.”

Inspired by Mama Asanda’s belief in her, Lisakhanya decided to take a leap of faith and enter the Miss Magxaki 2024 competition. “I also wanted to challenge myself and try something new,” she explains. “That’s when I decided to enter the competition.”

Balancing her studies in IT (coding) at the university and her blossoming modeling career has been no easy feat, but Lisakhanya is determined to excel in both areas. “Besides modeling, I am passionate about technology and innovation, and I’m excited to see how I can apply my skills and knowledge in the industry,” she shares.

Looking ahead, Lisakhanya envisions a future where she seamlessly merges her two passions. “In the next few years, I see myself becoming a leading IT professional and using my skills to make a positive impact in my community,” she says. “I also see myself continuing to model and potentially exploring new opportunities in the entertainment industry.”

To aspiring models, Lisakhanya offers words of wisdom. “Authenticity and hard work are the keys,” she advises. “Stay true to yourself and don’t be afraid to take risks and try new things. Remember, your beauty and worth go beyond modeling, and rejection is not the end. I didn’t make it in the Miss KwaDwesi pageant, but I’m still pushing forward and exploring new opportunities.”

With her infectious positivity, unwavering determination, and natural talent, Lisakhanya Yiba is poised to become a force to be reckoned with in the world of modeling and beyond. Keep an eye on this rising star – the future is bright, and she’s just getting started.
