Ladies and gentlemen, it is an honour to present you one of the most Durban extravagants beautiful queen who is none other than Ntombi Gumede. She usually experience pressure from all angles, she has been rejected by many people who did not believe her dreams, she wears many hats of different offices and she has been criticised by many people. Above all, she was not shaken and move by all forms of storms that came along the way but she continued pursuing her dreams. Therefore, an enthusiastic superwoman has managed to put her name on the world map in both business arena and modelling world. Her brand is a household name that speaks so loud about excellence and dominion.
Ntombi Gumede is a mother of 4 adorable and beautiful kids, a wife, business woman, founder of Ecotourism World Pageants, director of Miss Teen Universe South Africa, Miss Teen Mundial South Africa, Miss Teen International South Africa, Miss Teen Charm South Africa, Miss Teen Globe South Africa and Miss Teenager Universe South Africa.
A journey of success
For Ntombi, there is no single definition of success. I have been able to achieve many of goals and dreams at the early stage of my life. Success is a journey without a final destination. If you want to get fish in a river, you have to be prepared to get wet and to go deeper in the waters. There is nothing that comes easy in life. If it was so simple and cheap, everyone will be successful.
I ventured into modelling industry when l was 8 years old, l got an opportunity to represented South Africa as a Mrs Tourism Globe in Philippines in 2016 and l became the winner. In the same year, l decided to focus full time on my own business and close off my pageantry journey. The rest is history, my craftwork speaks on itself.
Behind the scene
Miss Teen Universe South Africa is a girl child empowerment program that runs throughout the year in all provinces. Basically, we conduct auditions so that we can elect the best models from the rest and the best performers will be thoroughly trained for 3 months. Then, we crown 5 queens who will have the privilege to represent South Africa in the big 5 international pageants namely Universe, World, International, Charm and Globe. In 2023 for the first time, we introduced pre – teens and crowned 5 pre- teens that will be representing our country in the most elite mini pageants across the world.
The MTUSA is an impactful program that empowers winner to become a powerful brand, each queen remains the brand on her own while as an organisation carrying the title. We have also partnered with reliable and trustworthy brands in South Africa like South African RedCross Society where our winners are national goodwill ambassadors and will be involved in the charitable programs especially those that promotes education. We have collaborated with Sky Hotel Sandton, our winners have been appointed as ambassadors as well.

Social media is part and parcel of my business tool. This is another way to engage with millions of people throughout the world by constantly updating them about our projects and daily activities.

What does Ntombi Gumede want to be remembered for?
I want to be remembered for my legacy and how l have touched and changed people’s lives or perceptions about the modelling industry. And to be remembered as an African woman who made it possible to positively influence and make a huge impact both regionally and internationally.
